Steve Walden is recognized throughout the surfing industry as "The Father of the Modern Longboard." There is no doubt that his contributions to the evolution of the original modern longboard have been profound. An accomplished professional surfer, Walden grew up in the heart of the surfing revolution on the beaches of Southern California. He has been designing and shaping personal boards for himself and friends for 40 years. In 2004 Steve joined forces with Global Surf Industries to help develop his brand and take his business to new levels. Steve's focus today is on design more than ever. His desire to see what the new frontier will hold for surfboard design over the next 10 years is a driving force. Steve still enjoys competitive surfing and in the past year has traveled more than ever before, as his reputation and relationship with surfers around the world continues to grow.
